Blog a Little, Love a Lot

Well........ I haven't blogged in forever, considering the fact that my life became markedly less exciting since leaving New York City. It's a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless. The semester I spent there truly gave me time to spread my wings; I became a new person, went on new adventures, and explored a whole new world. It was invigorating and amazing and a thing of the past.

That leaves me here, at Stonehill College, glancing at my Timehop everyday to see what kind of extravagant thing I was doing a year ago. (Seems like October 1st, 2013 I was thoroughly enjoying some David's Tea, and I'm actually doing the same right now. Pumpkin Chai to get in the October mood). Needless to say, I'm missing the adventure, hard.

So, now I'm swimming in ideas of how to make my life interesting again. It's not bad by any means, it's just not as full and thrilling as it was a year ago. So far, I've come up with the idea of packing my car and traveling to the west coast for a year. We'll see where I go with that one...

Aside from that, I've been keeping busy with endless amounts of school-work and weddings. I'm working with Cheeky Details (www.cheekydetails.com), a LI wedding planning company run by the AMAZING Jamie & Heather, and it's a job I'm absolutely loving. I spend my weekends processing flowers, meeting vendors, fluffing dresses, and distributing bouquets. It's fun and glamorous and completely exhausting... but in the best way possible. The events created by Cheeky are incredible and worth every bit of my energy.

This summer, I learned to love kayaking, Montauk, and the wineries of Long Island (surprise, surprise), and spent my birthday vineyard hopping with the best family there is. Mom turned the big 5-0 a few weeks ago, so we got to celebrate that, too, with a bonfire and a pretty intense smores bar. And now I'm going to go to bed with a stuffy nose and dreams of apple picking and home-cooked meals.

Dress-Up Day

Tuesday is a weird day.... I have off Monday and Wednesday, so going into work today and having off tomorrow feels pretty odd! Anyway, I once again arrived too early this morning, so I stopped at Starbucks and had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte. I have to admit, it did make me excited for fall... We had our morning meeting out on the main floor today. Nicole and Kim (two Directors) showed off the new Augusta Jones dresses which were really pretty! I also met a consultant who has been on vacation. After the meeting, Joan paired me with Rita, a consultant who has been with Kleinfeld for over 20 years. She is from Italy and there is a slight language barrier, but she was so funny and nice and kept me laughing the entire time! While there were over 70 appointments today, Rita and I only had two brides! The day was so slow for us, and therefore boring at times. I really did enjoy working with Rita, though. Wild Friday Nights

Happy Friday! I wish I were able to request more hours in the day today. I got back to the Bronx from work tonight, worked out, gathered laundry, and put my dinner in the oven, and now it's almost 9 o'clock. My dinner is still cooking, my laundry is in the dryer, I still need to shower, and I certainly would love to sit down with a glass of wine and watch some TV. Three extra hours, please! When I woke up this morning, I consulted weather.com and it advised me to wear rain boots and dress for colder weather. I put on the most comfortable, appropriate outfit I could think of for work, as well as my rain boots again, and headed outside into a rather comfortable temperature. The rain boots were unnecessary for the second time in a row, but I know the day I don't wear them it will be pouring. I got into Manhattan really early, so I stopped at Trader Joe's and did some much needed food shopping. I made my own tea again this morning, so I wonder if my tea friend was missi...
